Thriving is all about the small, daily actions that collectively help us lead a life that is happy, healthy, productive, successful.
Start with a goal and jot it down on the weekly goals sheet with check boxes. Make it specific: "get out of bed every morning as soon as my alarm goes off", or "leave 10 minutes earlier than I think I need so I will be on time." Do this for each member of the family. Hang it in a prominent place in your home (the refrigerator or family command center are great places). Each person checks off their boxes on a daily basis (either independently, or as a whole family at dinner time or during your bedtime routine). Use one new goal sheet each week for the entire family.
PRO tips on using the goals page
Feel free to add more goals as you get better at current ones. Jot down a thing or two you or your family feel grateful for along the way. While you’re checking off the boxes, it’s a great opportunity to spend a few minutes reflecting on your day. Identify the things you grateful for. Recall any missteps and try to identify the root cause of these, committing to work on your shortcomings. If you have wronged anyone, be sure to apologize.
We encourage you to make simple notes (on page 2 of the goal page) about how you observed change(s) in someone’s behavior that is in alignment with the goal they set for themselves.
Be sure to end each day with a focus on a WIN! Tracking your daily progress and noting special achievements will make your family huddle even more encouraging and special!
Remember: Small, daily habits (like making your bed) give you a small sense of pride that sparks continued positive and productive choices throughout your day. Cheer on each other and celebrate WINS often.
